The 10th Anniversary Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

In 2017, Veuve Clicquot wanted to add a new level of fun and style to their signature NYC event, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. So, in partnership with the New York Times and their creative arm, Fake Love, I helped write and oversee a 60-minute live stream that played on the front page of the Times.

The content included a 28-minute polo match, interstitial footage hosted by the star of Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale, an introduction with Neil Patrick Harris, a live performance by Alicia Keys, and pre-recorded segments that highlighted the event's three focuses: fashion, food, and polo.

Style is a huge part of the event—so we broke up our live coverage with some pre-shot sequences with a few attendees and their personal looks.

Most Americans know squat about polo. So we made a film to teach people about the sport. We didn’t title it “Chukka or Sucka”—but we should have.
